LIPA’s Cool Homes Program
If you are planning a new central air conditioning (CAC) or heat pump installation, take advantage of all the Cool Homes Program has to offer. We’ll help you enjoy the “cool” benefits of energy efficiency, and some cool cash rebates besides.
Buying a CAC or heat pump is a big decision, and there are several things you should know before you buy. Most importantly, a properly installed and sized energy-efficient CAC can: save you hundreds of dollars on your electric bill year after year, reduce your maintenance costs, and lengthen the life of your new equipment.
Early Retirement for Existing Equipment
With the Cool Homes Early Retirement option, enhanced rebates are available when you replace an inefficient CAC system or heat pump that’s still operational or needs minor repairs. It’s important to have your contractor determine the proper size for new equipment. Simply selecting the same size system you have now or basing the size of your new CAC on your home’s square footage could lead to lower efficiency and higher maintenance costs.
